About this Event
The Volunteer Center of Durham's GREAT HUMAN RACE is a a certified 5k Run and Community walk that supports 100+ area nonprofits.
In its 21st year, the Great Human Race moves back to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, with an encore of our popular 5K route. The race is a certified and timed 5K competitive run and walk. Starting at the Ballpark, the race will wind through the scenic gently rolling hills of the Forest Hills neighborhood with the last leg on the American Tobacco Trail and finishing back to the Bulls Stadium.
The Great Human Race has raised over $2
million since its inception in 1996. There are plenty of ways to get
involved...run, walk, volunteer, donate or raise money for your favorite
We will be offering our Nonprofit Marketplace as
well as entertainment and refreshments.
Race Day Schedule
- Registration: 7:15AM – 8:15 AM
- Run starts: 8:30 AM
- Walk starts immediately following runners
Registered runners are not permitted to have dogs on the course.
Race timing and results by Precision Race. Precision Race has eliminated the need to wait for your race results. 5K runners can get their race results instantly in several ways: visit our touch-screen Results Kiosks to receive your personal results including overall, gender, and age group rankings, Runners who opt in are sent a results text message as they cross the finish line. Prize categories: top 1st place male & female and age groups: 11 and under, 12-16 , 17-24 , 25-34 , 35-44 , 45-54, 55-64, 65 – 74, 75+
PACKET PICK-UP / PRE-ONSITE REGISTRATION: Friday April 29 between 4:00 - 7:00pm at Omega Sports, New Hope Commons, 5426 New Hope Commons Dr, Durham, NC 27707
EVENT PARKING: Parking is available at the American Tobacco Parking Garage on Jackie Robinson / Willard Drive
